YEAR 2000 READINESS DISCLOSURE

THIS INFORMATION IS PROVIDED "AS-IS" AND IS NOT TO BE CONSIDERED AS A WARRANTY OF ANY KIND.
Summary of Unitrode's Year 2000 Readiness Status
Summary:
Unitrode Corporation has substantially completed its goal of Year 2000 readiness by our June 1999 milestone. Our products are all compliant, and our main business processes and supporting systems are ready. There are still a few non-critical areas on which some work is continuing, but none of these would cause any interruption in our business or our ability to make and deliver products. We believe that we have adequate contingency plans for all items at risk, and are therefore Year 2000 Ready.
Products:
All Unitrode products are Year 2000 compliant. Refer to our web site: http://www.unitrode.com/y2kprod.htm
Business Systems:
All Unitrode sites, world-wide, now operate using a Year 2000 compliant business ERP software. This software, Oracle Applications,
includes all order entry, manufacturing planning, and financial systems.
The last remaining implementation was the manufacturing WIP movement at our Dallas site, which was completed on August 2, 1999. Our fab manufacturing execution system (PROMIS) has been upgraded to a fully compliant version.
Buildings, Facilities, EH&S:
All critical building environmental health and safety system and equipment have been certified or tested for compliance.
Manufacturing Equipment:
All critical manufacturing and test equipment is now Year 2000 ready. A few items have some minor date issues, but those dates are not used and/or adequate work-arounds are in place.
Suppliers:
All critical suppliers have been contacted and asked to provide information about their Year 2000 business and product readiness. Critical links in the supply chain have received the most rigorous examination, and those suppliers have been contacted for audits. For our most critical suppliers -- assemblers -- we have done thorough reviews and in some cases, on-site audits. We also have at least one alternate supplier for each part/package needed. All suppliers have been rated in terms of priority (impact to our business) and risk (assessment of our confidence in the supplier's Y2K Readiness). For critical suppliers, we have developed contingency plans.
